Over the past 15 years or so, one of the debates in climate change circles has been whether we should reduce our emissions (the mitigation camp) or whether we should adapt to it (the adaptation camp). With the growing evidence that the decline in Arctic sea-ice is being caused at least in part by anthropogenic forces, it would appear that Mr. Harper's plan to station the Canadian navy in the Arctic is an excellent example of our new made-in-Canada solution to climate change: adaptation.
