Letter to various Nova Scotia newspapers, sent 20 January 2005
For those Nova Scotians who believe that Cecil Clarke, the provincial energy minister, was wrong in making a deal over the 'air emissions' of sulphur dioxide with Nova Scotia Power, take heart, Premier Hamm will never let such a deal take place. After all, it was Premier Hamm who wrote the following in his overview of "Seizing the Opportunity", the provincial energy strategy document:
"Our government will take firm actions to improve the quality of the province's environment by reducing air emissions and working closely with the federal government on climate change issues."
